Mechanical Advantage #5
Really interesting stuff as usual. I'm not sure about the refence to a young Dutch female for La Meije - that would normally be Meisje (pronounced mice-je). This article here seems to point toa local reference to Midday? https://uk.oisans.com/discover-oisans/not-to-be-missed/la-meije/#:~:text=The%20word%20Meije%20comes%20from,meidjour%20(the%20midday%20needle).
deleted this: (Meije: Dutch for "young woman"). Not sure where I read that, but I was also surprised by the spelling, and assumed it might have been an older spelling. Anyway, deleted, thanks for input!
good to know, I will look into. Thanks for checking it out!
Original aid climbing! Thanks for sharing this history John!
